Description

The Rural Municipality of Edenwold No. 158 will complete a assessment of its main grid roads including a condition rating, priority rating for capital investments and valuation. The vision for asset management of drainage includes an Asset Management Plan that evaluates storm-water and drainage systems assetscurrently in place and to put together contingency plans on operational improvements and infrastructure rehabilitation. This will include assessment of capacity of these systems in order to put in place long term funding strategies. The information gathered will allow the R.M. to update its drainage systems asset to a level where the R.M. can confidently implement the managerial, technical and financial capabilities required to accurately address the drainage systems into the future. Long-term financial modeling will support management decisions through data collection and reporting. As the R.M. moves forward with this improvement to its drainage system information, it will be able to have cross-department managerial staff work together to ensure that the Asset Management Plan is being properly implemented, the required levels of service are being met, and metrics are used for yearly tracking. MAMP 16813(30 pages)This organizational development strategy will determine asset management requirements for future drainage systems in the RM as it continues to grow the municipality and region. The R.M. will also assess the water and aquifer as part of sound utility asset management of the itsmunicipal water supply. This will provide assessment data to be utilized for strong capital investment decisions for current and future development pressures for water utility volumes and quality. These three asset assessments are key components to the R.M.’s of overall asset management plan goals and objectives in 2020.
