Description
The Town of Essex will contract LAS Roads Assessment Service to diagnose roadway defects efficiently and effectively using rapid-sensor inspection technology collecting pavement related data while traveling in traffic and to gather data on the condition of 526 lane km of roads within its juridiction. It will use the data analysis software to determine its longer term Asset Management priorities for the asset class: maintenance plans, capital refurbishment / replacement plans, and ongoing condition assessment needs. The LAS Roads Assessment Service data is collected in tight time synchronization using acoustic technology, millimeter-wave surface radar array, video cameras, and a ground penetrating radar array (GPR).The Town will ensure that condition assessment data is loaded into a web-based GIS data managementsystem that provides visual tools and methods to improve decision-making for roadway management.
