The grant recipient will implement initiatives that will increase the municipality’s capacity to adapt to climate change. The first phase consists in developing a climate change adaptation plan for the municipality. This plan identifies climate change impacts, risks, and associated adaptation strategies or actions associated with the region, community, neighbourhood, or asset group. The second phase consists in implementing operational and institutional changes within the municipality in order to help ensure adaptation to climate change once the grant period ends. The final phase consists in completing the groundwork leading to the implementation of the climate change adaptation measures; the grant recipient will be required to put the planned measures into action during the grant period. In Year 1, the Recipient plans to:• Develop a Climate Adaptation Policy (engagement)• Record and acquire data• Consult with local and regional stakeholders involved in climate adaptation• Develop the Adaptation Plan -25%• Create and lead a joint Climate Change CommitteeIn Year 2, the Recipient plans to:• Consult with local and regional stakeholders involved in climate adaptation• Develop the Action Plan• Update and enhance GHG inventories• Update and enhance GHG Emission Reduction Plans• Establish an organizational structure to ensure the implementation of the Reduction and Adaptation Plans
