Description

This feasibility study aims to develop an integrated Water Management Plan over a five-year period to enable the Town of Saint-Quentin to deal with problematic locations in its watershed and reach solutions to regulate sites that pollute or violate current regulations. It involves characterizing the watershed, mapping it, identifying the problematic sites and studying them, quantifying pollution levels, determining the global state of the watershed and public education. Both point-specific sources and diffuse points will be identified to establish exactly the source and extent of pollution in the Five Fingers Watershed. The project aims to reduce fecal coliforms by 30 per cent, the level of turbidity by 15 per cent, soil loss from 10 tonnes per acre to three tonnes per acre and increase the fish catch in the watershed. The action plan will be presented to the consultative committee of the Five Fingers Watershed (CCBVFF) for approval upon completion.
