Description

The Penticton Indian Band (PIB) will develop its Asset Management Program. Furthering the development of PIB's Asset Management Program is one of Penticton Indian Band’s top priorities. With PIB’s housing and development pressures, the community is expected to see significant growth. This puts further emphasis on understanding the ability of the existing infrastructure and housing assets to support both existing and future needs. The community has expended significant effort in building a GIS-based asset register and conducted condition assessments of the water and wastewater facilities, drainage, and road assets. In addition, the community is currently undertaking a water system capacity review and a climate adaptation strategy which will help inform and prioritize capital investments. This information will now be used to inform financial needs through an asset replacement forecast and operations and maintenance funding gap review. This project will directly assist PIB in developing the asset management road map and meeting the specific requirements for life-cycle planning, inspections, and the operation and maintenance of capital assets. The community will do this through the following key activities:Activity 1: Complete the Compilation of PIB’s Infrastructure Assets and Build On-boarding CapacityActivity 2: Build Financial Awareness and Develop a 3 to 5-Year RoadmapActivity 3: Incorporate records into financial management application (Xyntax) and prepare a concise summary package
