Description
The Project will include the retrofitting of the existing Affinity Recreation Center in Shellbrook, Sk by replacing or upgrading various systems in the center that consume large amounts of energy. A feasibility study is underway, thanks to FCM funding, to determine the appropriate changes. These changes consist of replacing the existing 40 year old ice refrigeration system with equipment that will require less energy to operate and include design features that will reclaim energy that is now being lost to the surrounding environment. Replacing the existing uninsulated ice field with one that is built to specifications that include insulation to prevent energy loss.
