Description
This study will help the City of North Bay develop a business case to encourage private investment in a wind farm thatwould transmit energy to the municipal grid. The grid is operated by North Bay Hydro Energy Inc., an affiliate of CityownedNorth Bay Hydro. This would displace coal-fired generation at the margin. A minimum capacity of 20 megawatts(MW) is probably required to make the project financially viable. This would lead to an estimated 47,00 metric tonnesannual reduction in greenhouse gases (GHG), based on 20 MW capacity operating at 33 per cent availability.
