Though currently under utilized by municipal leaders, Conservation Corps Newfoundland and Labrador proposes to raise awareness of the adaptation tools through the following activities:Regional Climate Change General Awareness Sessions for Municipalities: CCNL will develop sessions targeted to municipal leaders and decision makers. focusing on the impacts of climate change and the benefits of adaptation measures.Climate Change Adaptation Tools and Resources Training. These sessions will increase knowledge of the adaptation tools/resources available to municipalities, with specific instruction on Identification. Selection and Completion of a Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment and/or Risk Response Plan for at least five municipalities. Municipalities will understand how adaptation requirements can be applied to RFPs and municipal planningDelivery Presentation of Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment and/or Risk Response Plan.CCNL’s Municipal Community Climate Change Advisor will work closely with the municipalities to assist in the presentation of the developed plan to those involved in the decision-making processes.Best Practices and Resource Accessibility.
