Description
The City of Saint John will conduct a detailed energy audit of City Hall to identify energy efficiency measures that will helpreduce the energy costs. The building is considered energy inefficient due to inefficient lighting and heating, ventilation,and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, a poor building envelope, and improper control systems. The energy audit willcover the following activities:- Review of HVAC systems- Lighting upgrades- Energy management control system- Water conservation- Building envelopeIn summary, the proposed project will help to reduce the total load by at least 50 per cent, resulting in reducedgreenhouse gas emissions generated by the power plant, conservation of natural resources, improved air quality andemission control, increased economic benefits and a 35 per cent decrease in energy demand and water use.
