Description
The Town of Fogo Island Asset Management Project will involve building an inventory of linear infrastructureincluding water, sanitary, storm and road networks. The Town will produce hard-copy maps along with afunctional GIS for viewing infrastructure on a desktop computer, which will provide the municipality with thenecessary tools to manage its infrastructure.The Town will develop policies and objectives related to asset management for measuring and monitoringimplementation of its asset management strategy.A cross-functional group will be set up with clear accountability and ensuring adequate resourcing andcommitment from senior management and elected officials to advance asset management.This initiative will allow the Town to use asset data, performance data, and financial data to support effectiveasset management planning and decision-making. This will be done through documenting andstandardizing how the organization sets priorities, conducts capital and operations and maintenanceplanning, and decides on budgets.MAMP 16533(28 pages)Staff and elected officials will participate in training and staff development, sharing knowledge internallyand participating in external knowledge sharing, which will contribution to the Town asset managementpractices.
