Leduc County Asset Management Initiative

Leduc County's asset management initiative will enhance staff capacity to adopt asset management practices while emphasizing to Council and the public the importance of asset management in the County. Leduc County has chosen three areas as the focus for this project: 1. Develop an asset management governance framework and resource plan. The governance plan will include roles and responsibilities for key stakeholders such as Council, the leadership team, the AM committee and county staff. The framework will establish resource/ capacity requirements to implement the Asset Management Strategy (see next activity) and its associated Improvement Plan. This will identify where additional resources may be required, either through hiring new personnel, or through external support.2. Develop an Asset Management Strategy, an Asset Management Readiness Scale Improvement Plan, an Asset Management Plan template and a Fleet Management Strategic PlanThe Asset Management Strategy will align with the County Strategic Plan and include elements from the Governance Framework developed in the previous activity. The AM Strategy will also include an Asset Management Readiness Scale Improvement Plan. This improvement plan will outline specific actions that can advance Leduc County's AM competencies from its current state to the desired future state. The Fleet Management Strategic Plan will set the direction for fleet management practices across the County. An Asset Management Plan template will also be created.3. Develop a Condition Assessment framework and conduct staff training to create a consistent approach to how the County assesses infrastructure condition for each asset class. Staff training will be completed to build internal capacity in this area.
