Description
The Town of Kearney wants to improve its water quality management and operations. Its water infrastructure consists ofon–site septic systems and water supply from wells and surface water. The present state of the aquatic environment isunknown, but it could be threatened by aged or poorly built septic systems. The study will identify ways to protect surfaceand ground water quality in the headwater areas of the Magnetawan River in support of environmentally sound growthand economic development. It will include surface water quality surveys, a terrain analysis, septic inspections, groundwater surveys and public meetings. Based on the research, strategies will be developed to improve protection of groundand surface waters.
