Description

This study will consolidate and update the information necessary to support an application to the Infrastructure Canadaprogram to fund a tertiary wastewater treatment facility in the Rothesay Valley. The project would include the capacity torecover energy from the sludge or to augment a composting operation. It would also involve decommissioning existinglagoons and constructing required pumping stations and transmission systems that would redirect sewage to theregional facility. Land associated with the lagoons would be reclaimed for productive use, and the existing collection andtransmission system would be upgraded to meet quality control standards. The study will assess the use of alternativetechnologies, measuring their efficacy, energy efficiency and cost. Opportunities to incorporate sustainable operationsmethods will be included in the final design of the region's wastewater collection, transmission and treatment systems.
