Description
The Town of Choiceland will conduct an initiative that will improve the Town’s asset management capacity. The municipality, which is in the early stages of a asset management journey, will assemble relevant background information into an asset replacement forecast, develop a 20-year Asset Management Plan for all major asset categories, facilitate three educational and team building workshops, develop an implementation strategy, and create a GIS tool to digitize the historical asset information for water, wastewater and roads infrastructure. Staff will discuss levels of service, risk and life cycle costs associated with providing various services – providing an environment for continued learning and capacity building. The Town also will assess and incorporate the current condition of one asset class in the asset register, document the desired condition of assets, and identify the funding gap between the current and desired asset condition.
