Description

The Municipality of Whistler will evaluate whether adequate quantities of groundwater with acceptable water quality areavailable to meet all or part of the space-heating requirements at its Public Works facility. The project is innovativebecause there are no known applications of groundwater coupled Ground Source Heat Pump technology in the Whistlerarea. The final report will indicate whether producible groundwater was found at a reasonable depth, how muchgroundwater can be sustainably produced, its quality, whether well screens and heat exchangers would be prone toscaling or corrosion, and the environmental effects of implementing a full-scale Ground Source Heat Pump system.
