Description
The Cedar Road Landfill, a 40-hectare municipal solid waste landfill, has been operating for about 60 years in Nanaimo.It is expected to close in 2005. This study will examine the potential to expand the gas collection system in the short-termto increase the amount of gas recovered and used. The quality and quantity of landfill gas currently being produced andthe potential capacity for future generation will be estimated. The study will include a conceptual design for theexpansion of the gas collection system and options for gas utilization by building on experience from other sites inCanada.
