Description
The Town of Baie Verte will expand its current Asset Management practices. A joint project between Tract Consulting Inc. and Landinfo Technologies Inc. will conduct condition assessments of all the town’s major asset groups including: water distribution, sewer/storm and road network as well as municipal owned buildings and structures. All linear assets will be captured in GIS format for mapping purposes while buildings and structures will be assessed and recorded in an Excel spreadsheet. In addition, a fully functional Desktop GIS (QGIS) and easy-to-use web mapping application will also be provided to the Town for future use. The municipal staff will receive training to assist in performing fundamental operations such as viewing, querying, and making minor edits to QGIS. Tract/LandInfo Technologies Inc. will also develop a Preliminary State of Infrastructure Report (SOIR) including asset life expectancy, condition, and replacement costs. This Town aims to utilize this data to develop a Priority Replacement Strategy. The ultimate combined output of these components is to develop and present a plan to the Baie Verte Town Council and devise a plan to commit the required resources to renew the Town's
