Description

The Village of Goodsoil will collect information on the roads (~30 km) within its boundary, including lengths, right-of-way information, and road classification. This information will be entered into an asset registry. Theh Village staff will, with the help of Northbound Planning, review all road assets for a gap analysis report. The Village of Goodsoil will train staff and council for best Asset Management (AM) practices with a focus on data capture and the uptake of policies. The Village will work with Northbound Planning to obtain and create an asset management plan (AMP) for the community. The Village will consolidate inventory and critical assets into to PubWorks Using the data captured on asset life cycles in PubWorks, the Village will formalize current needs and assessments to better base the capital budget requirements. It will create a 5-yr capital plan to gain a better understanding of specific AM needs and information required. The Village will develop a strategy that will lay out timelines, and leadership and create policies for continuedasset management improvement and progress. The Village will establish an Asset Management Committee (AMC) to guide Council's decision-making and upcoming training. The Village will then further develop AM policies and AM procedures. Municipal Staff will learn about and discuss levels of service, risk management, and life cycle costs associated with providing various services to residents.
