Description
This project will assess the technical, environmental and economic feasibility of delivering energy without constructing alarge central energy plant. Land price and land-use conflicts in this dense urban area make building such a plant difficult.Instead, North Vancouver will consider initiating a district energy system that would meet economic, environmental andcommunity social interests. If feasible, a district energy system would form one of the cornerstones of a new NorthVancouver community energy policy. The project's plan for how to distribute the district energy makes it particularlyinnovative. If successful, this approach to developing a district energy system could be replicated by cities across thecountry.
