Description
This study will investigate processes to reduce waste collected from its rural municipal centres by providingrecycle–gathering stations in all of its rural population centres. The long–term results of this initial study are expected tobe at least at 50 per cent reduction in waste to landfill through the implementation of composting and recycling, and thereplacement of the 20 uncontrolled sites with a central controlled landfill site serviced by transfer stations. Dumps willalso be closed at the end of their useful lives. This project will be undertaken with partnerships with rural and urbanmunicipalities.
