Description
This study will examine the feasibility of constructing a new central sewage system consisting of a gravity collectionsystem and a tertiary treatment level wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). One of the goals of the study will be tocompare a new technology that is innovative to Atlantic Canada - the Solar Aquatics Wastewater Treatment (SAWWT)system - to other technologies to arrive at the best system for Victoria. The study will include a comprehensivecommunity profile and an evaluation of the economic benefits that could be derived from such an installation. Thesystem would be housed in a greenhouse, located in the centre of the community, which would include an informationcentre with a demonstration video and self-guided tour of the installation. It is projected that this study could become amodel project for Prince Edward Island with high potential for replication in other communities in the province.
