Description
This project will audit past energy use at all of the city's wastewater treatment and pumping facilities. The study willexamine ways to reduce the amount of electricity the plants use, by installing more energy efficient motors, valves andother equipment and by optimizing processes. Other wastewater treatment plants in Canada and the United States thathave carried out similar studies have substantially reduced their power requirements. The study will be undertaken at thewater reclamation plant and the pumping stations that convey treated wastewater to irrigation sites.
