Description
As a member of Partners for Climate Protection (PCP), the City of Fredericton has committed to reduce their corporateemission by 20 per cent below 1990 levels by the year 2010 and their community emission by 6 per cent below 1990levels by the year 2010. The City will use this study to complete PCP Milestones one to three in relation to the City’scorporate, community and institutional greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. A First Kyoto Steering Committee will carryout management and coordination of the study, which will outline reduction targets. The Committee will be chaired by theAssistant City Administrator and will include councillors, members of the public and partner organizations. An externalconsultant will be hired to coordinate milestone achievement activities. A local action plan (LAP) for corporate,community and institutional emissions will result from the study.
