Description
The Rural Municipality of Morris (RM) will establish a municipal asset management program that will include a newly developed service delivery framework so that it can continue to effectively deliver municipal services while consolidating and developing its asset base for the future. The RM's council and senior management will complete a comprehensive infrastructure management system assessment to identify gaps that need to be bridged. The RM will provide asset management training to its employees and elected officials. The RM’s ultimate outcome will be an asset management system that inform decision-making based on sound infrastructure data, ensuring that future investments are made in the right places, demonstrating good stewardship for future generations. The RM will create an internal Asset Management Plan (AMP) Committee consisting of individuals occupying the following positions: Chief Administrative Officer Finance Officer Fire Chief/Building Inspector Current Public Works Manager Assistant Public Works ManagerThe RM will commit to hiring a Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) on a term contract, or a similar resource, in order to carry out the work involved in the creation of the AMP. This will allow the RM to develop an asset management policies and procedures manual to guide the municipality in its decisionmaking process in this area
