Description

The City of St. John's is adopting a water conservation policy that includes a recommended investigation of the costsand benefits of a plumbing retrofit program. The study will assess retrofitting the water supply system and the impact ofthose improvements in deferring future system development, including a proposed primary sewage treatment plant.Current plumbing retrofit programs and new technologies will be reviewed to determine the potential costs and savings.By means of this study, the city will learn how much the retrofit program will cost, and if the projected reduction in waterconsumption is sufficient to warrant proceeding with the plumbing retrofit program.
