Description

This project will develop (and eventually commercialize) an integrated manure utilization system (IMUS) that will manageanimal manure and municipal wastes as valuable resources. Direct products will be heat and electricity, bio-basedfertilizer and reusable water; indirect benefits include the potential to reduce manure-handling costs at feedlots (ororganic waste disposing cost for small municipalities) and a reduction or elimination of the use of land for manure and/ororganic disposal and the associated water contamination and odour problems. A further benefit is the reduction ofgreenhouse gas (GHG) emission through the generation of green electricity.
