Description
The purpose of this project is to help the Town of Glenburnie-Birchy Head-Shoal Brook improve its assetmanagement practice by providing training to key employees and elected officials and developing aninventory of the municipality's major assets. The project will comprise two components:a) The Town will receive a training session for staff and elected officials on:- Getting started on Asset Management Planning- Preparing an inventory, reporting on the preliminary state of infrastructure- Communications and awareness of Asset Management.b) The Town will develop an inventory of its major assets including linear assets (roads, water distributionnetwork) and structures (buildings and water treatment plant). Linear assets will be captured and set up ina GIS system. The data will be imported in a spreadsheet based template so that Preliminary State ofInfrastructure Reports are generated for each asset group showing life expectancy, condition andMAMP 15636(28 pages)replacement costs. Condition assessment will mainly be based on age. This project is the first step inimplementing asset management planning for the Town.
