Description
The Town of Hinton is constructing the Hinton Government Centre to house its administration and several provincialgovernment departments. The Centre is designed to reduce energy consumption and operating costs to less than half ofthe Model National Energy Code requirements. This study would select a site, take into account local climatic conditionsand conduct energy modeling for the ambulance, police and fire building at the Centre. The project will help to reducethe municipality's greenhouse gas emissions. The site selection and construction are also designed to reduce the risk offorest fires where urban areas meet natural forestland.
