Description
The Town of Harbour Breton, NL, the Town of St. Alban’s, NL and the Town Hermitage-Sandyville, NL are rural and remote communities located in close proximity to each other. The Towns share municipal fire services and costs for other professional services such as assessment review commissioner expenses. The Towns are part of a Regional Joint Council where Councils and Mayors discuss and collaborate on common issues. Public works staff members collaborate and assist each other as needed.On this asset management project, The Towns will achieve economies of scale within the project budget by spreading the cost of contractor travel to remote communities to undertake the work. Workplans include a joint workshop with Councils and staff as an introduction to asset management and drafting an asset management policy. In addition, prepare an inventory an inventory of major assets (including water distribution, sewer, roads, storm, municipal-owned buildings and structures, trails, parks and fleet) in spreadsheet and GIS format Prepare State of Infrastructure Reports and a Preliminary Capital Program.MAMP 16951(30 pages)The Towns will build on the asset management programs together and anticipate identifying other opportunities for sharing and collaboration.
