Description

Several recent Quebec municipal mergers have obliged municipalities to rethink the organization of municipal services. This feasibility study will help them to prepare a complete inventory of energy consuming and greenhouse gas (GHG) emitting equipment within 250 Quebec municipalities. Partnerships with key players including Hydro-Québec, Gaz Métropolitain, Agence de l’efficacité énergétique, other partners, as well as utilization of FCM’s recommended building retrofit process (Municipal Building Retrofit Guide), will help ensure that municipal governments have the best opportunity to implement GHG reduction measures once their inventory is complete. The outcomes of this project include the creation of an interactive on-line database of municipal infrastructure and the preparation of GHG reduction action plans for each community.
