Description
The City of Greater Sudbury’s asset management initiative has identified the need to inspect and collect data to develop a Sidewalk Condition Index. The City owns, operates and maintains 440 km of sidewalk; some of which are located in remote locations due to the geographic footprint of the City limits.The City of Greater Sudbury’s Infrastructure and Capital Planning Department will retain a consultant to work with City staff to develop and implement a Sidewalk Condition Index (SCI). The SCI will be developed to provide a rating system that will quantify the condition of the sidewalk and issues related to encroachments and slopes. Data will be collected and analyzed within the framework to rate condition and risk while reporting in a clear and consistent way for the City's entire sidewalk network.
