Description
The Town of Winterland will implement a three-phase Asset Management initiative. Phase 1 includes creating an asset register for its fixed infrastructure assets utilizing a Geographical Information System (GIS). Fixed infrastructure assets include the water system (three wells, pumps, treatment, piping, valves, curb stops, and other assets), transportation network (pedestrian walkways and vehicle roads), structures (town hall, fire hall, community hall, playground, water tower, sports court, garage, bus shelters) and fleet and equipment (fire truck, fire suppression equipment, 25 kW generator and other equipment). Phase 2 includes prioritizing the asset register in terms of consequence of failure and probability of failure. Phase 3 includes incorporating Phase 1 and Phase 2 data into current capital and operational planning procedures and creating an Asset Management Policy.
