Description
The City of Pitt Meadows will undertake a full inspection and condition assessment of drainage culverts based on well-established criteria to further the City’s Asset Management Plan and better mitigate the risks of asset failure. The activities will involve the creation of a Data Management System / Inventory, data collection, assessment, prioritization, and reporting. The City of Pitt Meadows is located in a designated floodplain and the culverts in the drainage system are critical for the conveyance of water out of the city. The proposed Culvert Condition Assessment will allow the city to catalogue and rank the status of the 776 culverts in the drainage system. Once ranked in the City’s GIS system, a decision tool will be used to budget and plan repairs and replacements in advance of failures. When the Culvert Condition Assessment has been completed, the data collected will allow for more accurate and detailed budgeting with less risk of unanticipated costs arising.
