Description
The District of Barrington wishes to complete a Community Buildings Monitoring and Analysis exercise for 6 facilities which include an administration building, arena and pool, recreation centre, library, the Barrington Sewer Treatment Plant, and a curling club. The municipality is looking for opportunities to improve their environmental footprint while simultaneously reducing its operating costs. Currently the municipality has no buildings with integrated energy monitoring capabilities outside of regular utility bills. The outcome of this study is the installation and commission of six web enabled electrical power meters at each of the identified facilities to allow for remote monitoring and historical data trending. Other activities will include facility benchmarking using Energy Star Portfolio Manager (ESPM) and ASHRAE Level 1 Audits to generate initial next steps in improving the energy performance of these facilities.
