Description
The purpose of this project is to help the Town of Rocky Harbour improve its asset management practiceby providing training to key employees and elected officials and develop an inventory of the municipality'smajor assets. The project will comprise two components:a) The Town will receive a training session for staff and elected officials on:- Getting started on Asset Management Planning- Preparing an inventory, reporting on the preliminary state of infrastructure- Communications and awareness of Asset Management.b) The Town will develop an inventory of its major assets including linear assets (roads, water distributionnetwork, sewer network, storm network (ditches) ) and structures (buildings and water and wastewatertreatment plants). Linear assets will be captured and set up in a GIS system. The data will be imported ina spreadsheet based template so that Preliminary State of Infrastructure Reports are generated for eachasset group showing life expectancy, condition and replacement costs. Condition assessment will mainlybe based on age. This project is the first step in implementing asset management planning for the Town.
