Description
Burndenet Creek, an environmentally sensitive waterway, is located in the Rouge River watershed. The five–kilometercreek is susceptible to erosion because of the urban development nearby. This study will investigate the extent of thecreek's susceptibility to erosion and will identify the most effective ways to minimize or control that erosion. Thosemethods could include source controls, retrofitting existing off–line storm water management facilities, using in–streamerosion control works, or devising a combination of all these possibilities. The study will use the most modern technicaltools available to model erosion. Minimizing erosion will protect adjacent properties from suffering the same fate, willreduce sediments in the water, provide better water quality and will protect the health of downstream aquatic andterrestrial resources.
