Description
Cornwall’s solid waste recycling program is 10 years old – making its equipment, technology and operating methodsinefficient by today’s standards. This study will evaluate the existing operations and equipment and recommend ways tooptimize the recycling operation. There will also be a cost/benefit analysis for implementing new technology andequipment for the city’s sorting and processing facility. The study will come up with ways to reduce the amount of energythe plant uses and the number of vehicles required for curbside recycling. Reducing vehicles would save on the amountof carbon dioxide emitted and reduce Cornwall’s contribution to climate change.
