Description

The Sustainable Development Research Institute (SDRI) of the University of British Columbia (UBC) intends to developa Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS). It will be a highly innovative building that will be designed tobe the most environmentally advanced building in Canada and, among other things, will incorporate the most innovativesustainable building technologies, facilitate interactive research programs and encourage partnerships in developingbusiness plans and policies to implement sustainable urban infrastructures. In addition, it can be used as a laboratoryand research vehicle for the operation, monitoring and assessment of sustainable building products and practices. Byway of this project, a detailed technical study and comprehensive business plan will be developed for CIRS.
