Description

Alberni Low Energy Housing Society (ALEHS) will complete an assessment of retrofit considerations to support a 25% energy consumption reduction of an 11-unit affordable housing facility in Port Alberni, British Columbia. The SAH Planning Grant will help ALEHS determine cost-effective upgrades to their building enclosures, heating and cooling system, lighting, plug and process loads, and appliances. More precisely, the Planning grant will support engagement of professionals to complete an energy model of the current building, highlight retrofit priorities and explore the solar potential of the building. Results from this assessment will inform the renovations of the facility and help the organization access additional GMF funding for a capital project.
