Description
The United Counties SDG have recently completed detailed bridge inspections and road studies whichinclude an extensive amount of asset data, therefore the next component of their data collection for assetmanagement relates to its facilities. To accommodate the extensive work involved with gathering data, SDGCounties are seeking a consultant to determine the condition of facilities including physical attributes, actuallocations, replacement costs, useful life, condition assessments and risk assessments. The Counties have15 buildings requiring assessment consisting of public works garages, the County administration complex, storage facilities, and office buildings. The Counties also require asset management software to efficiently manage and optimize their assetportfolio. The excel based program they use is no longer feasible for maintaining comprehensive asset dataand reporting for asset management. The SDG Asset Management Working Group has completeddemonstrations from multiple software companies and has discussed in detail the criteria required forMAMP 15727(28 pages)software to suit their needs. The intention is for their working group, consisting of one upper tier and fivelower tier municipalities, to select the same software for asset management in order to be able to supporteach other in the future. Software implementation and training in addition to a software purchase is essentialin order to optimize the success and use of such a comprehensive system.
