Description
Following a detailed Needs Assessment, the City of Brooks’ AM Improvement Plan is a multi-year plan and is scheduled to take 2 years to fully implement. Phase 1 of the Improvement Plan will address the highest priority actions over the first 12 months. The key activities for this period are: 1. The City of Brooks will update its Asset Management (AM) Policy, ensuring that governance roles are specified, and that AM is incorporated in the job descriptions of those employees having an AM role.2. The City will develop a standardized system for grading the condition of the City’s assets, which will allow a comprehensive and consistent Infrastructure Status Report to be compiled.3. The City will develop a consistent risk assessment framework that will allow each of its assets to be assessed consistently across all asset classes. It will use this framework to compile a risk register for its assets and service lines.The implementation of the three initiatives above will result in significantly improved asset management governance, understanding of the condition and risks of the City's infrastructure, and improved capability for better decision making.
