Description

The Rural Municipality of Loon Lake No. 561 will undertake a project to gain the tools and knowledge to make decisions on the weighting of influencing factors based on the RM’s current and future needs. Anengineering firm will work with the RM to brainstorm what influencing factors are important and facilitate discussions surrounding these and other potential influencing factors. Along with establishing the influencing factors, the RM will determine Level of Service standards for the RM's infrastructure. The RM will update its database to include financial and cost data. This will enable the RM to estimate infrastructure upgrades and replacements in the future. The RM and Public Works, along with an engineer, will complete a review of the existing maintenance practices undertaken on the RM's assets. The engineer will provide recommendations where required, should there be an opportunity for the RM to implement additional or alternative practices. Based on these recommendations, the RM can create operating and maintenance policies in the future.
