Description
This project would investigate innovative technologies to treat sewage. Those technologies include "snowfluent" (thecommercial name for a technology that uses natural freezing of atomized effluent for disinfection and treatment) andwetland treatment systems, as well as conventional sewage treatment technologies. The study will assess the feasibilityof upgrading and expanding the treatment facilities located just south of the former village limits. Any upgrade wouldimprove the effectiveness and efficiency of the treatment process, while balancing the need to improve the quality ofRawdon Creek and other bodies of water that currently receive effluent from the treated waste. The study will set a goalof removing 30 to 40 per cent more pollutants than required by existing provincial limits.
