Description

Building on the K'omoks First Nation: Community Infrastructure Asset Management Plan Phase 1 (completed March 2020), the Asset Inventory Project will strengthen K’omks First Nation (KFN)infrastructure management through GIS data collection and inventory. KFN’s focus in the current projectwill be on water, sanitary and drainage systems, road infrastructure, and community buildings. The team will confirm known asset information to within 1-metre using ground-truthing, and fill any data gaps with GPS field information. KFN will use the information gathered to populate a geospatial database of underground and above ground assets.A project deliverable, a comprehensive GIS database, will inform strategic, financial, and risk management planning, and be used as the basis for the development of a systematic Maintenance Management Plan. The Asset Inventory Project is a key building block in the KFN's overall Asset Management Strategy.
