Description
Based on existing data and a previously selected facility site, this study will reassess the findings of an earlier report byspecifically considering new and innovative wastewater treatment approaches for the Town of Amherst. The output ofthe study - the identification of a preferred system alternative - is to lead directly to detailed design/strategyimplementation activities. During project planning, the Town has taken a holistic approach and has considered the fullrange of relevant issues including, bylaws, source control, public education, alternate energy sources and naturalprocess (wetlands) treatment. The Town intends to show further innovation by engaging a leading non-governmentalorganization (NGO), Ducks Unlimited, as a partner, and by holding regular public consultations.
