Description
The Town of Harbour Breton, NL, the Town of Hermitage-Sandyville, NL and the Town of St. Alban’s, NLare rural and remote communities located in close proximity to each other. The Town of Harbour Bretoncurrently has a ‘Municipal Aid Agreement’ with the Town of Hermitage/Sandyville for motor vehicleaccidents. Costs for other professional services such as assessment review commissioner/engineer, whenrequired are shared with the three municipalities. The Towns are part of a Regional Joint Council wheretheir Councils and Mayors collaborate on common issues. The public works staff collaborate and assisteach other as needed.On this asset management project, the Towns will achieve economies of scale within the project budget byspreading the cost of contractor travel to our remote communities to undertake the work. Workplans includea joint workshop with all Councils and staff as an introduction to asset management and drafting an assetmanagement policy. In addition, prepare an inventory an inventory of major assets (including waterdistribution, sewer, roads, storm, municipal-owned buildings and structures, trails, parks and fleet) inspreadsheet and GIS format Prepare State of Infrastructure Reports and a Preliminary Capital Program.MAMP 16950(30 pages)The Towns will build on the asset management programs together and anticipate identifying otheropportunities for sharing and collaboration.
