Description

This study will look at ways to design roads so that runoff can be stored during storms and absorbed by ditches orswales, or collected in catch basins connected to underground storage and infiltration systems. Creating curb openingsis one of the options the study will consider. Construction techniques, the design of a monitoring program to test theeffectiveness of the storm water management techniques, and the level of inspection and monitoring required will beanalyzed. The study will also estimate operating and maintenance costs, the durability of roads under wintermaintenance conditions, and surface treatment that promotes infiltration of storm water.
