Description
The City of Barrie is developing a Community Energy Plan that will serve as a management tool to support continuousprocess improvement in its operations. The plan will be used to evaluate alternatives for new infrastructure that isrequired to meet its accelerating growth. There are three components to the study:- A greenhouse gas emissions inventory which will be used to identify opportunities to implement energy efficiencyprograms;- An environmental acccounting audit to improve the performance metrics that are used to manage daily operations andlong–term financial decisions. The audit will also be used to identify and reduce hidden environmental costs.- Preliminary techno–economic evaluations of specific greenhouse gas reduction initiatives to support a priortity list offuture projects.
