Description
This proposal groups 30 feasibility studies in arenas across Quebec. The studies will assess the potential energy savingsof arenas by installing all–in–one heating/cooling systems, instead of the separate heating and cooling systems in mostarenas. If the new systems were installed, the arenas would reduce their energy consumption by 41 per cent - a potentialannual energy saving of 270 Gwh. Almost a third of these savings would come from reducing the amount of natural gasarenas use, leading to a concurrent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. The all–in–one systems also reducerefrigerant loads and leaks, reducing emissions still further. This project involves a group of arena owners formed tocarry out the studies. It will promote the transfer of knowledge among consultants in the field.
