Description

Before the Village of Lions Bay pursues the upgrading and expansion of its water infrastructure to increase supply and address water quality concerns, the Village needs to better understand its water supply requirements. On the water quantity side, this project will help the Village to determine how it can distribute and use water more efficiently through demand side management. On the water quality side, it will identify health and environmental concerns. In addition, it will address how the Village can meet new provincial water quality standards expected in the next few years. The goal is to reduce consumption by 5 per cent each year for five years (i.e. from 1,035 to 775 litres per capita per day) and to increase water efficiency through grey water systems and other measures.
